BENGKULU.WAHANANEWS.CO, Jakarta – The Government of Indonesia has strongly condemned the mass shooting that occurred at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia, during the Jewish holiday Hanukkah, which left at least 15 people dead and dozens injured.
The condemnation was delivered by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in an official statement released on Monday (15 December 2025).

“The Government of the Republic of Indonesia strongly condemns the act of violence that occurred at Bondi Beach, Sydney, on 14 December 2025, which resulted in fatalities and injuries,” the Ministry said in its statement.
In addition to the condemnation, the Indonesian government expressed its deep condolences to the families of the victims and extended prayers for the recovery of those injured.
“Indonesia expresses its solidarity with the Government and the people of Australia during this difficult time,” the statement added.

The mass shooting took place amid a public Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach, attended by civilians including families and children. Australian authorities have classified the incident as a serious security threat and immediately heightened security measures at public venues nationwide.
Australian police confirmed that two suspects, aged 50 and 24, identified as father and son, were involved in the attack. The 50-year-old suspect was killed at the scene, while the 24-year-old remains in critical condition but is reported to be stabilising following intensive medical treatment.
Police further revealed that one of the suspects legally possessed six licensed firearms, which are believed to have been used in the attack. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive, ideological background, and any potential extremist links connected to the incident.
